What are castles? Why were they built? Who lived there, and who didn’t? And what should our shared castle look like so that we all feel at home in it? The upcoming interactive exhibition “CASTLES” at the Junges Schloss Children’s Museum invites children and families to explore these questions in a playful way, engaging all their senses—all while visiting the Old Castle in the heart of Stuttgart.
A variety of interactive stations bridge the gap between history and the present. The exhibition explores life and work in the castle, community and solidarity, as well as status, power, and justice. This creates a shared experiential space where children can develop their own ideas, negotiate them with one another, and put them to the test: How do we want to live together today and in the future?
