Not necessarily. You can take up to 5 children under 18 regardless of whether they are friends or family.

Of course: your friends or family will be delighted with this gift! The Museums-PASS-Musées has no automatic expiry date. The lucky recipient can fill out the Museums-PASS-Musées with their name and stick on a photo just before using it for the first time. On their first visit of a member site, the subscritpion will be activated for a year.

The prices in Euros are only valid in the museums and sales points in the Eurozone (Germany and France). It is up to the museums or selling points to decide whether they accept or refuse foreign currency, whereby the in-house exchange rate will be applied. The prices will in any case be set on the standard fee in the currency of a particular country (€ for Germany and France, CHF for Switzerland). 

A registration enables us in case of theft or loss to call up your personal data and to guarantee the free replacement of your Museums-PASS-Musées. Moreover, before the expiry of your current subscription you will receive an automatic reminder to renew it in time and you will thus be able to benefit from a free thirteenth month.

You can also register for the exclusive events offered by the association throughout the year.

However, your Museums-PASS-Musées can be activated without a user account.

You can renew it directly in our member sites (with a few exceptions) and selling points. You also have the possibility of renewing your Museums-PASS-Musées directly via our online shop.

You have to renew your annual pass before your current subscription expires. This can be done in one of our member sites or selling points.
You can also renew it directly on our online shop (under the condition that you have a user account).

On the current Museums-PASS-Musées the expiry date is not visible so that it can be renewed indefinitely without changing the card or the user account. If your Museums-PASS-Musées is registered, we will remind you automatically before the expiry of your subscription. For environmental reasons we would prefer email corrsepondence.

You can also find the expiry date by logging into your user account, by asking at the reception of one of our member sites, at our offices in Basel, or via this link.

In case of theft or loss we guarantee the free replacement of the Museums-PASS-Musées if your personal data are stored in our data bank: i.e. if you registered your Museums-PASS-Musées via the user account.

It is therefore important registering your Museums-PASS-Musées when buying it!

The Museums-PASS-Musées grants access to all temporary and permanent exhibitions of our member sites. 

Please note: special museums events (such as museum nights, opening events, private viewings etc.) and guided tours, audio guides etc. are generally NOT included. Please refer to the museum directly. You find their contact information on our website. 

The digital PASS can only be used via the Museums-PASS-Musées app. The Apple Store guarantees that the app will work properly only on the two most recent versions of its iOS operating system. The Play Store guarantees that the app will work properly on Android version 11 and above.

If you have purchased a plastic card and have digitised it, you can no longer deactivate it and use your plastic card. If you purchase a digital PASS, you cannot convert it into a plastic card.

You cannot use the digital PASS on multiple smartphones. Only the last one you logged into will allow you to enter participating member sites.

You can buy a digital PASS in our online shop. It is not possible to buy a digital PASS in a museum. However, you can buy a plastic card and digitise you PASS in the app. 

You can renew you digital PASS in a member site, in the app or the online shop.

Once the photo has been approved, it cannot be changed. For any changes, please contact us by email: info@passmusees.com

If you remain logged in to the app, the ‘MY PASS’ menu will still be available offline. Remember to log in before crossing the border.

For security reasons, screenshots are not accepted for entry into a museum. You must present the “MY PASS” page of the app.

We recommend offering a plastic card. The holder can then choose whether to use the card or digitise their PASS.

You can contact us by email at info@passmusees.com, providing us with your digital PASS number and your plastic card number.

We do not replace digital PASSES. You can access your account on your new smartphone and change your password. The digital PASS only works on the last device you used to log in. This means the digital PASS will no longer work on your old phone.

The Museums-PASS-Musées regularly organises online events and events in museums. In the online events, member institutions provide insights into their exhibitions. At the events in the museums, you can discover exciting exhibitions on site. These events also offer plenty of opportunity for socialising. The Museums-PASS-Musées often has partnerships with other cultural organisations, which include discounts on their offerings, for example. All these offers are only available to pass holders. 

Simply click on the information page of an event in particular and scroll down until you find the registration link. Only persons with a user account can register for exclusive events. Since our events are very popular, we recommend that you register as soon as possible. Information about our events are on our website and in the newsletter.

Old Museums-PASS-Musées (issued before 2014)

New Museums-PASS-Musées (issued from 2014)

1. New designs, yellow with pixels, yellow with family
2. "ePass" written on the front side (pixel design only)
3. 8 digit pass number
4. QR-Code

These passeses must be exchanged at the central office.

This procedure is free of charge and a new pass, with the same validity, will be sent to you by post.

Please note that old passes are no longer accepted at member sites since 01.01.2024 and you will not be granted free entry.
