Concert with chthonic rhythms and sounds, Casio Pop and Post Punk
On Friday, May 8, 2026, the Rehmann Museum will be transformed into a resonating space for the unplanned and archaic. As part of the current exhibition Énergies fossiles, Héloïse (CH) and Le Diable dégoûtant (FR), two artists who create musical landscapes between earth, tradition and future in radically different ways, will come together. Starting at 7 pm, the audience can expect a journey that ranges from hypnotic minimalism and post-punk to surreal, ritualistic sounds from rough Brittany.

Héloïse: hypnotic minimalism and vocal elemental forces
The Zurich musician Sabina Leone is behind the Héloïse project. A fixture on the Swiss scene since 1993 (including Wemean, Sorelle Leone), today she reduces her instruments to the essentials: drums, voice and loops.

Her new EP Rubbish Rubbish (released on the CAF? label) is a manifesto of versatility. Sabina Leone creates songs that seem like cinematic soundscapes. From mutated dub to melancholic Casio pop anthems to multi-layered choirs reminiscent of Meredith Monk, Héloïse uses music to give powerful form to the emotional chaos of our time. After more than 30 concerts across Europe, she now brings her intoxicating trance to Laufenburg.

Le Diable Dégoûtant: dark and surreal soundscapes from Brittany
Pauline Marx alias Le Diable dégoûtant travels from the depths of France. Her performance is like an encounter with another time: imagine a marauder lurking in the woods of a Bruegel painting or wandering through the surreal flora of a Hieronymus Bosch.

Using unconventional means such as reeds, grated horsehair and earthly textures, she creates experimental electronic folk that is deeply rooted in mythology. These are "poisonous" sounds, monotonous chants and somber mantras that put the audience in a trance-like state. Their latest work is a map for a country that doesn't actually exist - an adventurous journey through an "inverted world".
