Textile artworks by Karola Kauffmann with music and installations by Pauline Marx
On Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 15:00, the Rehmann Museum will be the setting for an extraordinary symbiosis of textile art, sound and movement. As part of the current exhibition Énergies fossiles, the museum invites you to a "Défilé of Fabrics". This fashion show dissolves the boundaries between static art and living performance and brings the Rehmann Museum to life.
The hand-woven works of textile artist Karola Kauffmann are at the center of the event. Her experimental fabrics are far more than mere cloth: In structure and color, they build a bridge from the past to the future - from static art to moving performance. In the défilé, these works of art - made from fine natural fibers and unconventional materials - become part of a moving production.
A Gesamtkunstwerk of sound and dance
The défilé is complemented by musical interventions and installations by artist Pauline Marx to create an all-encompassing experience. Acoustic echoes transport visitors to a subterranean, even "chthonic world", where the history of the earth and the colors and patterns of the textiles awaken ancient memories.
