In an itinerary designed to take us backwards through our lives (we enter an "in memoriam" space and end up in a room dedicated to birth), this project invites visitors to go through all the phases that can mark out a life. We see bodies and faces "fixed" by painting, photography and video, as if stopped in one of the phases of their existence. Old age, the prime of life, adolescence, infancy and coming of age are the main themes of this project, based on the collection held at MAMCS. From Renoir to Sarah Jones, from Muybridge to Marlene Dumas, the project also echoes several pieces on loan from museums in the Strasbourg network, forging new links between the institutions' collections.
