The exhibition "Archistories - Architecture in Art" shows more than 100 works by around 70 artists from five centuries that reflect architecture. With paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures from the collection of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe and video works, photographs and installations by invited contemporary artists, the exhibition provides an insight into the history of the architectural piece since the 17th century and the "archisculpture" of the 20th and 21st centuries. Above all, "Archistories" also reflects the immense interest of the present in the examination of anthropological, aesthetic, political, social and ecological questions of present and future building. Humanity has never been more aware of the lasting impact this sector of our creativity has on the ecosphere and the question of how we can shape it sustainably has never been more pressing.
