What can you do to promote peace? And what exactly is democracy?—these were the questions posed by the team behind the “Wonderland” student café at Theodor-Heuss-Realschule and the students at Schiller-Gymnasium in Offenburg.

What does it mean to live together harmoniously? Where can we get involved to help shape democracy, and when do we have to fight for our right to participate?

40 posters—decorated with stickers, painted, and inscribed—explore the multifaceted concept of democracy in both small and very large contexts.

Nine dense scenes, staged like theater sets within boxes, offer us a glimpse of ourselves as a society and how we treat one another.

Serious, thoughtful, and questioning, yet also wild, colorful, and confident—in the exhibition, we can follow the students’ reflections and find ourselves pondering: What are we ourselves doing to promote democracy and peace?

The opening will take place on Thursday, September 24, at 6:00 p.m. You are cordially invited!
