Immerse yourself in the world of medieval monastic life! On this guided tour, building researcher Frank Löbbecke and art historian Eva Renz will take you into the partially preserved kitchen of the former Klingental monastery. They will tell you how cooking was done there in the 13th century and what dishes were served to the nuns. Discover the traces of the old cooking area and structural details that still bear witness to cooking in the Klingental today. The kitchen was ultra-modern, with a huge chimney hood and running water. On the tour, you will discover not only the kitchen and the late Gothic dining room, but also the storage cellar and the industrial canal where the monastery's own mills stood.
