Musée Bartholdi
The museum established in 1922 in the birth house of the sculptor Auguste Bartholdi is devoted to the presentation of this artist's works - of his sculptures and paintings.

Each year a special exhibition shows alternately a selection of his drawings and photographs.

A reconstruction of Bartholdi's Paris flat takes up part of the first floor. A large portrait of his mother, painted by Ary Scheffer, a Parisian artist from the Second Empire, is on display in the reception room. On the same floor one room is dedicated entirely to models and studies of the LION OF BELFORT, one of the artist's most famous works.

On the second floor the artist's American works are exhibited. The "Statue of Liberty" is represented by means of models, drawings, paintings, prints and photographs.
