Exciting stories from archaeology in children's books
Archaeology plays an important role in books for children and young people. As early as the 18th century, there were pictures and texts about the Celts and Roman times in children's and young adult literature. In the 19th century, after Napoleon's conquest of Egypt, the subjects of history and archaeology became even more important. The fascination for the distant past in connection with mysterious finds, which can also be made around Müllheim during the Stone Age, for example, still captivates children today.

The exhibition by the archaeology working group of the Markgräfler Museumsverein in the foyer of the Blankenhorn-Palais offers impressive children's books on archaeology, some of which have become "classics", and many "ancient", mysterious objects in display cases.
