No lovers of antiquity are as famous as Caesar and Cleopatra. But was it true love or political calculation that united them and ultimately sealed their tragic fate? Until October 26, 2025, the Historical Museum of the Palatinate is taking you back to a time of decline and rise with a major cultural-historical special exhibition. Based on historical facts, archaeological finds and the latest reconstructions, the show not only presents the moving life stories of Cleopatra VII and Gaius Julius Caesar, but is also dedicated to the political, social and cultural changes of this decisive era. Top-class objects and works of art from renowned European museums, including the Louvre in Paris and the Vatican Museums, offer fascinating insights and take you on an exciting journey into the past.
On Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 5 p.m., project and exhibition manager Lars Börner will present the exhibition and its focus using selected objects. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask the speaker questions.
