In the immediate vicinity of the imperial cathedral of Speyer, the Historical Museum of the Palatinate presents outstanding temporary exhibitions on topics of archaeology, history, art and culture as well as collection exhibitions on Palatinate history with holdings from the Stone Age to the 20th century. A wide thematic variety, also taking regional interests into account, and the presentation of the latest scientific findings are among the principles of exhibition planning.

The Junge Museum Speyer also provides children and young people with access to historical topics that is both age-appropriate and exciting.

Please note: Due to renovation work, only the new cathedral and diocese museum is currently accessible from the permanent exhibitions.

On public holidays and during the autumn, Christmas, winter, carnival, Easter and Whitsun holidays in Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse, the house is also open on Mondays from 10 am to 6 pm.
