How does color become form? When does a surface begin to breathe, a line to undulate, a grid to come to life? The exhibition “When Colors Find Form” explores the fascinating relationship between color, form, and space—and impressively demonstrates how clarity and minimalism give rise to surprising dynamism.

On display are both selected prints and significant canvas paintings from the Siegfried and Jutta Weishaupt Collection. All participating artists are united by the question of how color and form interact, enhancing, unsettling, or calming one another. They work in abstract and non-representational styles to fully immerse themselves in this exploration and make the effect of color and form tangible in their purest form.

“When Colors Find Form” invites visitors to look closely—and to experience how simplicity gives rise to diversity, order to vitality, and color to form.

Works on display include those by Josef Albers, Hans Arp, Max Bill, Geneviève Claisse, Ulrich Erben, Karl Gerstner, Auguste Herbin, Charles B. Hinman, Georg Karl Pfahler, Frank Stella, and Victor Vasarely, among others.
