Over the years, this passionate draftswoman has developed a technique in which she discovers her motifs rather by chance amid a tangle of lines. In this way, she takes us into her personal fantasy world of black, white, and red—a world that is not immediately apparent to outsiders. Sketched in a loose, spontaneous manner, her images convey something fleeting and abstract, leaving room for interpretation. Broad, horizontal, and vertical brushstrokes bring calm to the restless interplay of lines. Whether plates, cups, or vases, each piece is both a functional object and a work of art. Trained at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle in the ceramics department under Professor Antje Scharfe, the porcelain artist (*1978) has been working independently for 20 years. In 2024, she was awarded the Dießen Ceramics Prize.
