Splendore - joie, joie, joie...

Exhibitions
Affiche
What if the name of a cocktail (½ Amaretto ½ Fernet-Branca) invented by Marcello Mastroianni during the filming of Splendor* could be the starting point for this exhibition to mark the reopening of the Fernet-Branca Foundation? And what if this cocktail was also the title of a poem by P. P. Pasolini:

Ô joie, joie, joie…

Y avait-il encore de la joie

dans cette absurde nuit

préparée pour nous ?**

Joy - protective, rebellious, liberating - is at the heart of a group exhibition featuring artists who see night, dreams and states of semi-consciousness between (r)awakening and sleep as possible extensions of reality, spearheads or predictive tools.
* Splendor (1989), film directed by Ettore Scola.** Splendore (1943-1943), P. P. Pasolini, in Poèmes de jeunesse et quelques autres (Ed. Gallimard, French translation, 1995).
