SCHOOL ART: "Textiles"

The current SCHULKUNST theme, “textiles,” offers an extremely wide range of possibilities: Using different materials and textures, creative approaches can be developed in a variety of contexts. Textile structures can be found in drawing and painting; fabric becomes sculpture or clothing. They can be used for installations and performative approaches and designed in both real and virtual spaces. Textile materials are used in fashion and design, but they also find applications in architecture. The tactile immediacy of thread, weave, and fabric is just as important as, for example, a graphic, photographic, or cinematic exploration of textile-like structures.
