As part of the exhibition series "Retrospectives of Heidelberg artists", the city of Heidelberg is paying tribute to the graphic artist and painter Ron Otter this year. His works range between large-format, color-intensive paintings and small-format black and white prints, mostly woodcuts. They combine everyday objects and scenes with abstract elements. Otter uses precise, sometimes harsh formal language and symbolic representation to address individual freedom and social mechanisms. The motifs arise from personal experiences, political events, social change, music and literature. The exhibition shows works from 45 years of his career.
