On the occasion of the Night of Lights in Staufen, the Ceramics Museum (Wettelbrunner Str. 3) will open on Friday, December 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. especially during its winter break. The 4th Museum Evening traditionally offers a special exhibition in the STUDIO, short guided tours, mulled wine and gingerbread with free admission.
This year, the Förderkreis has invited the illustrator Rusiko Shashiashvili from Tbilisi/Tbilisi and the ceramicist Nona Otarashvili from Freiburg to STUDIO. Under the title BEWAHREN, they will be showing their porcelain Christmas decorations (with sales) and discussing their special history. The two artists have dedicated themselves to researching and artistically reinterpreting historical Christmas decorations in Georgia. In memory of their youth, figurines, objects and artistic "baubles" in white porcelain with fine gold painting are brought back to life. An accompanying photo documentation illustrates the transformation from Christmas tree to New Year tree in the Soviet era. The exhibition, which will also be shown in Tbilisi, is accompanied by a bilingual catalog (German/Georgian) with numerous illustrations.
