The exhibition is dedicated to the extensive graphic work of the Hamburg-born, Berlin-based artist Nanne Meyer. Under the playful and poetic title "Gezieltes Umherirren", her works in the historic Orangerie building in Karlsruhe open up unexpected ways of looking, getting lost and finding new things. Over 300 works will be presented, including numerous series and many drawings created especially for Karlsruhe. Meyer has devoted herself exclusively to drawing for over 40 years, using found materials and a variety of techniques as a means of seeing and reflecting - between the experienced and the imagined. Her works pose fundamental questions about our existence, about becoming and passing away and about our position in a seemingly infinite cosmos. Inspired by the exhibition venue, many new works revolve around the theme of the orange: as fruit, cultural symbol and luminous metaphor.
