›Materia prima‹ – the ›first matter‹ – refers to the shapeable primary matter from which something new is created by working it. Under this title, the international exhibition will be showcasing historical instructional materials of Pforzheim University as a starting point for new creative work. The venues of the exhibition – in addition to the Jewellery Museum and the Technical Museum, Pforzheim’s Arts Association is also involved – will become places of transformation: rings, enamel work, plaster casts, fabric samples, photographic glass slides, gemstones, electroformed objects, samples collections and books will serve as sources of inspiration. International artists will remove these items from their original didactic order and transfer them to new arrangements. The artists involved will be Claudia Angelmaier, Philipp Goldbach, Ilana Halperin, Annegret Kellner, Marcel Odenbach and Diana Scherer. Other international positions will be on display as well.
