Jan Peter Thorbecke's (*1942, lives in Constance) works are based on historical family and press photographs "from the homeland", which are ambiguous against the backdrop of the "leaden" period from 1933 to 1945. What can be seen? What is not? Using artistic means, the artist Thorbecke reacts in free association to the tensions and irritations emanating from the images he sees.
