From egg to chick (episode 35)

This exhibition is available in
German
The exhibition "From Egg to Chick" remains topical. For the 35th time, chicks of rare breeds hatch again in the museum. They can be observed for around 14 days as they grow up before they are given to private breeders. Our museum chicks are important ambassadors for the respectful treatment of farm animals and for sustainable agriculture. Hands-on stations show how our consumer behavior influences animal welfare. Our exhibition is therefore an important part of the United Nations' campaign for education for sustainable development. The exhibition is designed in a participatory manner by daycare and school groups through the creative competition. The evaluation of the artworks by visitors at a feedback station is just as participatory. The endangerment of the capercaillie also remains an important issue. For this reason, the intervention exhibition of the Auerhuhn im Schwarzwald e. V. association will once again take place on the 1st floor in 2026. A rally will guide visitors through the permanent exhibition and once again address new aspects of the content.
