From A for Archegosaurus to Z for Zephyrosaurus - their names are often difficult to pronounce, but they inspire children and adults alike. We're talking about the dinosaurs - the multifaceted prehistoric rulers. They are much more than stars on movie screens and in children's rooms. As early amphibians and reptiles, as flying and marine dinosaurs and as dinosaurs, they colonized all areas of life on earth for many millions of years. What is less well known is that their history continues today with birds. Sparrows, crows and the like are bird dinosaurs whose ancestors survived the asteroid impact 66 million years ago.
The large special exhibition "Saurians" is an experience for all generations and brings the prehistoric lizards to Mannheim. It can be seen at the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen from October 12, 2025 to August 2, 2026. Using numerous fossilized remains, skeletons, lifelike reconstructions and specimens, it provides exciting insights into the world of T-rex & Co.

Erstmals kehrt ein sensationeller Schatz aus dem Naturalienkabinett von Kurfürst Carl Theodor im Original in die Quadratestadt zurück: der weltweit erste beschriebene Fund eines Flugsauriers. Von Mannheim aus sorgte er für Furore.
