Hélène Delprat and the Centre Pompidou Collection
The first major exhibition dedicated to Hélène Delprat in a museum in France, it is part of a series of exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou-Metz that explore—through the eyes of an artist—the Centre Pompidou’s collection, the world’s largest collection of 20th-century art.

The exhibition was conceived by Hélène Delprat and Chiara Parisi as a collage of forms, references, voices, and narratives. Infused with figures such as Walt Disney, Buster Keaton, and Orson Welles, the Grand Nef at the Centre Pompidou-Metz becomes a space of simultaneity where multiple scenes coexist, contradict one another, and are reenacted. In this environment, reminiscent of a film set or a radio studio, the works from the Centre Pompidou’s collection are presented as fragments or clues, revealing Hélène Delprat’s penchant for the double, the artificial, the world of technology, and her fascination with empty studios.
