The "Spyys und Drangg" tour is offered on the occasion of the special exhibition "Basel on a Plate - Culinary City History(s)" as a cooperation between the Verein Frauenstadtgrundgang Basel and the Museum Kleines Klingental.

What was served at a wedding feast for Basel's upper classes? How did industrialization change our eating habits? And what recipes does Amalie Schneider-Schlöth present to us in her Basel cooking school? In addition to these questions, we also describe the lives of master bakers' wives in the Middle Ages, discover the female side of beer brewing and put our heads into the cooking pots of 19th century Basel housewives. The history of Basel specialties, such as Läckerli and Hypokras, is of course not to be missed.
