From the rediscovered Egenolff songbook
Petrucci revolutionized music printing and his legacy quickly spread throughout Europe. At this concert, a special print from the Swiss National Library is the focus of the ReRenaissance program. A spectacular find marks the beginning!

Among the mostly three-part "Carmina" of the German-speaking world in the 16th century, a collection from the Egenolff printing house was considered lost. Until five years ago, only a discantus partbook in Paris and a copy of the bassus in Heilbronn had survived. Without the tenor, the backbone of that music, the nine unica from 1535 remained silent in modern times. Based on the discovery of Royston Gustavson, who was able to locate two tenor partbooks in the Swiss National Library in Bern through expert research, David Fallows succeeded in transcribing these nine pieces in their entirety.

Tabea Schwartz (recorder, viola d'arco, conductor), Elizabeth Rumsey (viola da gamba, recorder), Claire Piganiol (harp, recorder), Ryosuke Sakamoto (lute, viola d'arco), Jessica Jans (vocals), Jacob Lawrence (vocals)
