This event is available in
German
Together with PEN Berlin and the journalist Deniz Yücel, the Salmen invites you to an evening of discussion in which not only the invited panel guests will have their say, but above all the audience will also be able to join in the discussion. We look forward to a lively evening!

PEN Berlin is an association of authors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland that supports persecuted colleagues from all over the world. With events, discussions and speeches, the members also question and examine the state of freedom of expression, freedom of the press and artistic freedom in Germany.

With a large series of talks at locations throughout Baden-Württemberg, PEN Berlin is inviting people to debate home and democracy ahead of the state elections. Two guests from different areas of society meet each other - and the audience. Because here the audience is not an accessory, but the third guest: it discusses, disagrees, complements and decisively shapes the evening. An open discussion about what holds society together and what threatens to tear it apart.
