Unusual musical forms and creative scope are the focus of this concert program. Quodlibet can be translated as "as it pleases". To this day, it is understood to mean a musical composition that combines different melodies or themes, often in a humorous or creative way. Familiar melodies or motifs are fused together so that they sound simultaneously and create a lively, multi-layered sound. Another master discipline was that of the riddle canon. Experts such as Josquin des Prez or Jacobus von Liège outdid themselves with complex structures and hidden clues. These compositions challenge both the musicians and the audience to discover the hidden messages and solve the musical riddles.

Direction: Catherine Motuz & Elizabeth Rumsey
