The Cité des Arts de Besançon inaugurates the first edition of a new event shared by the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional du Grand Besançon Métropole, the Frac Franche-Comté, Le Bastion and Le Pixel - Taqueria Quest.
Anchored within the Nuit des conservatoires national program, and designed as an invitation to discover this beautiful site and the various artistic practices it conceals, the evening invites the public to move freely between shows, concerts, workshops, lectures and an introduction to board games.
At the Conservatoire, a succession of concerts and shows will highlight the diversity of disciplines taught: classical to contemporary music, early music, amplified contemporary music, singing, classical and contemporary dance and theater.
To mark the occasion, our theater students will be reading an original play by Sylvain Levey, associate artist at the CRR for the 2025/2026 season. Written as part of a theatrical primer devoted to childhood in France, this short play, associated with the letter H, offers a discovery of the conservatory, its workings and its atmosphere, through the eyes of a young student.
For its part, the Frac, a major player in contemporary creation in the region, will be hosting a meeting with artist Lydie Jean-Dit-Pannel, to discuss her career and her performative walks, questioning memory, resistance and slowness as forms of commitment. The Frac library will present the ideal library proposed by the artists in connection with the three current exhibitions, while a participative and cooperative workshop, imagined around the work Madre-padre-monte by Bisontine artist Carolina Fonseca, will invite young and old to experiment with collage, drawing and play, for a playful and shared approach to contemporary art.
In addition, as a prelude to its eagerly-awaited reopening, Le Pixel will unveil a new form of taqueria and coffee shop. Combining committed cuisine and toy libraries, this central Cité des Arts venue will be offering board game initiations throughout the evening.
Finally, Le Bastion offers an evening devoted to contemporary music, with the first Bisontine performance of Elements of Baraka, a blend of traditional Gnawa trance and contemporary electronic rhythms. Preceded by a warm-up by CMGA and followed by a set by Mula, a DJ renowned on the international electronic scene, Le Bastion will close this 1st edition of the Nuit de la Cité des Arts.
All events are free of charge (subject to availability)
except for the concert at Le Bastion at 9pm: 10€ pre-sale / 12€ on site /.
On-site catering available: Le Pixel - Taqueria Quest marks its pre-opening evening by opening its catering area.
An opportunity to preview the restaurant's universe through a selection of Mexican-inspired dishes, combining convivial cuisine, generous flavors and a festive spirit. A first gourmet immersion before the official opening.
