Ice Age art of Europe
Exhibition "Prehistoric Forms. Ice Age art in Europe"
40,000 years ago, in the middle of the Ice Age, our ancestors made artistic figurines, cave paintings and the oldest musical instruments in the world. Replicas of famous works of art invite you to feel the shapes and raw materials. The melodies of the bone flute and the scents of Ice Age herbs tell of community and the environment.
The animal world of the Ice Age and the basis of human life in the Palaeolithic Age are closely interwoven. Archaeological finds make it clear that it was about much more than just food. Immerse yourself in the world of famous and lesser-known Ice Age animals and learn with archaeologist Hans Oelze how humans were able to survive in this seemingly hostile environment.
