Situated in the heart of the city in the Schlossplatz, the imposing glass cube is a real eye-catcher. In the interior the building surprises visitors with a spacious display area that extends underground through a former tunnel system. Here selected highlights from the municipal collection are exhibited on two floors. The diversity of the works on display ranges from Swabian Impressionism of the 19th century to Classical Modernism and post-1945 art up to the latest contemporary art. The Kunstmuseum is famous for its works by Otto Dix. Major artworks by Willi Baumeister, Wolfgang Laib or Joseph Kosuth make the visit an impressive experience.
