Collection in focus
Over the years, the Kunsthaus has collected a number of important works by Mario Sala (*1965). The work of the trained graphic artist, who lives and works in Winterthur, spans the fields of painting, drawing, object and sculpture and is also present in public space.
At the center of the exhibition is the multi-part work "Wild Bunch", purchased in 2023. Sala superimposes several pictorial levels here: Figures that appear familiar to us at first glance blur like an optical illusion. By mixing levels of reality, Mario Sala's art opens up a dreamlike dimension.
