Klostermuseum Hirsau
To celebrate the 900th anniversary and the jubilee of the consecration of the monastery church Peter and Paul, the monastery museum was opened in 1991 in cooperation between the city of Calw and the Badisches Landesmuseum.
The museum building was added to the north side of the Aurelius Church in Romanesque times and is also an important testimony to the history of the monastery.
The exhibition with numerous text and picture panels as well as found objects provides a good insight into the Hirsau monastery culture dating back over 1100 years, into the life of the monks and into the local and social history of the health resort of Hirsau in the 19th and 20th centuries.
