In 2004, when the site that now bears the name "The Fruit Gardens of Laquenexy" celebrated its centenary, the Département de la Moselle decided to refurbish and enhance the site.
Today the orchards that specialise in species conservation comprise some 20 themed gardens that bear the evocative name "Garden of Flavours". They are contemporary gardens designed to preserve our botanical heritage. With this project the local council aims to support the expertise of the Mosel region in fruit growing and horticulture. Here the focal point is no architectural cultural asset or building but our living botanical heritage.
