"We need to talk"

Faust und Melanchthon
This exhibition is available in
German
Philipp Melanchthon and Johann Georg Faust
The exhibition brings together two people who, at first glance, seem like adversaries: Philipp Melanchthon and Johann Georg Faust. They were contemporaries who lived right next door to each other, shared the same thirst for knowledge, and had similar educational backgrounds. But did they ever talk to each other? What happens when we bring these “opponents” together around one table?
We, the people of today, are also connected by shared questions, hopes, and fears. But talking to one another—that’s often not so easy.
The exhibition aims to encourage people to reflect—and hopefully to engage in conversation as well. People who view the world from very different perspectives.
“We Need to Talk” is a joint project between the Melanchthon House in Bretten and the Faust Museum in Knittlingen.
