Villingen Carnival in Miniature: The "Jaag" Figures

Every year, just in time for Epiphany, Ingeborg Jaag’s more than 80 carnival figures gather in the exhibition halls of the Franziskanermuseum. On display there are far more than just the figures from the Villingen Carnival—including Narro and Altvillingerin, Butzesel, or Wuescht. All the figures are arranged into lively scenes, and there is always a lively exchange taking place: they make eye contact with one another, couples turn toward each other, and typical scenes unfold between the performers and the audience—just as they do during Carnival in downtown Villingen.
