Strong print from A(ntes) to Z(ippel). Graphic highlights of the 60s and 70s

Moon landing and Woodstock, Vietnam War and student revolts, oil price shock and economic crisis: the 60s and 70s were characterized by upheaval and upheaval, bringing a popularization as well as a politicization of culture. The desire for a new attitude to life and the political tensions of the era are also reflected in art, which underwent a fundamental reorientation: in Pop, Op or Minimal Art, in ZERO, Conceptual Art or New Realism. As a laboratory for experiments in form and content, printmaking opened up new avenues for artists; at the same time, it experienced a renaissance as a medium for making original works accessible to a wider audience.
The exhibition takes a look at this exciting period and shows 50 works of printmaking. They are by well-known and renowned artists, including Horst Antes, Willi Baumeister, Joseph Beuys, Günter Fruhtrunk, Otto Herbert Hajek, Heinz Mack, Georg Karl Pfahler, Lothar Quinte, Klaus Staeck, Günther Uecker, Ben Willikens, Wolf Vostell and Eva Zippel.
