From Senlis, Without Rival
The Centre Pompidou-Metz pays tribute to Séraphine Louis (1864–1942), known as “Séraphine de Senlis,” a singular and visionary figure of modern art. Bringing together over 90 works, the exhibition reveals a vibrant world of flowers, leaves and fruit, infused with intense presence. Beyond the avant-garde movements of the 20th century, the painter created a unique artistic language blending nature, spirituality, feminism and vital energy. The exhibition offers a fresh perspective on her work and reconsiders her place in art history.
