This exhibition aims to highlight a little-valued facet of the Vosges landscape: the urban and architectural landscape inherited from the Second Reconstruction in the Saint-Dié-des-Vosges district. Its aim is to document and explain the specific features of the architecture of the Second Reconstruction period, through a comparative approach that allows us to examine this heritage on a district-wide scale.
The exhibition will make the most of the photographic archives of the Ministry of Reconstruction and Urban Planning held by the Vosges departmental archives, as well as the research work carried out by the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Nancy. It will also feature testimonials from local residents who lived through the Reconstruction period.
