This exhibition was created for the Interreg project 'Castles on the Upper Rhine' by the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg (SSG) and the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace (CeA) and can be seen in Lörrach as a double exhibition at Rötteln Castle and the Dreiländermuseum.
While the excavation results of the project from various castles on the Upper Rhine are on display at Rötteln Castle, the focus of the Hebelsaal exhibition in the Dreiländermuseum is on modern archaeological methods.
They have provided important new findings, particularly for the early history of Rötteln Castle, with the location of the curtain wall, the kitchen area and the chapel.
In 4 accompanying lectures in the Dreiländermuseum, new methods of excavation and (14.04., 28.04., 12.05. and 02.06.2026, each 6 pm) their documentation, geophysics and animal bone and metal analysis will be presented.
