Textile paintings by Aurélien Lepage
in the museum collections
Artist Aurélien Lepage is invited to the Musée de l'Image Populaire to take us on a colorful journey with numerous antique and medieval references. Based on his textile paintings, a new narrative thread is offered as a counterpoint to the tour, featuring embroidery, collages on fabric and paintings. The vivid colors and symmetrical compositions of Aurélien Lepage's contemporary creations offer a rich dialogue with the chromolithographs and paintings under glass of the 19th and 20th centuries, whose motifs and structures are updated.
