Most of the time, they’re invisible to us—and yet their network of threads spans our entire planet: from the depths of the oceans to the
most inhospitable deserts. Their secret to survival: cooperation. In a playful and inclusive way, the exhibition shows how fungi communicate with animals behind the scenes or supply plants with nutrients. And we humans, too, work together with fungi. As talented chemists, they offer solutions to many of our most pressing challenges for the future: from the development of new medications to the recycling of valuable raw materials and sustainable construction. Numerous interactive stations make exploring the exhibition an exciting experience for all generations.
From March 19 to September 12, 2027, international artists will explore “fungal logic” at the Museum für Neue Kunst Freiburg.
