Between 1916 and 1925, Paul Klee crafted about fifty hand puppets from various materials for his son Felix; thirty of these are still preserved at the Zentrum Paul Klee. A large portion of these, along with the reconstruction of the hand puppet stage commissioned by the family, are on display alongside several works of art that document Klee’s engagement with theater.
