Special exhibition from March 25 to June 28, 2026 - Vernissage: Wednesday, March 25, 2026, 7 p.m.
With a quick stroke, pointed and humorous, Klaus Puth's drawings open up a new perspective on the story of Simplicissimus. At the center of the exhibition are the original drawings from the modern retelling by Simone Grünewald published in 2022 - direct, large and in all their graphic presence. The pictures by the well-known caricaturist and book illustrator are far more than decorative accessories: they comment on and condense the text. Full-page illustrations alternate with comic-like narrated episodes, pointed individual illustrations and vignettes. The result is
concise scenes that condense, intensify or characterize the figures involved. Together with the modern language of the retelling, they open up an easy and intelligent approach to Grimmelshausen's Simplicissimus, a novel of the 17th century that is still relevant today.
Opening hours: Sundays 3 - 6 p.m., admission €3 (vernissage free)
