INNERVIEW. Kate Gilmore, Klara Lidén, Pipilotti Rist, Stephanie Comilang & Simon Speiser

Entitled Inner View, the exhibition focuses on video installations by three artists: Kate Gilmore, Klara Lidén and Pipilotti Rist. Each work shows female protagonists in their individual life situations, in their actions and thoughts. The artists question social conventions and norms in various ways and make traditional patterns of behavior and role models visible.
The video/virtual reality installation by Stephanie Comilang and Simon Speiser Piña, Why is the Sky Blue? addresses the preservation, safeguarding and reinterpretation of traditional knowledge. With their installation, the artists create a polyphonic image and thus a narrative of Spain's colonial connections in Ecuador and the Philippines. They also make political, social, cultural and material interdependencies visible.
