Future spaces - people design spaces. Then, now and in the future

People shape spaces - then, now and in the future. As initiators, designers and users, they consciously shape their surroundings: for functional, social, cultural or emotional reasons. Spaces are rarely created by chance - they reflect the needs and values of their time and are constantly changing in the course of social developments and new requirements.

The exhibition examines the interaction between people and space, focusing on cultural spaces and their significance in an urban context. The starting point is the Augustinermuseum Freiburg itself - a place that has undergone many changes of use since its creation in the Middle Ages: from a monastery to today's museum.

Zukunfts(T)räume depicts this change and builds a bridge between the past, the present and the prospects for what is yet to come.
In the course of the exhibition, two or three other cultural sites or institutions from Freiburg will be integrated. Open areas are deliberately planned for this purpose, which will be successively developed and used - also with the participation of urban society.
