David Norocos: a hybrid technique, a universal language
An Ivorian painter trained at the CTAA and the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts d'Abidjan, David Norocos has developed a singular style somewhere between abstraction and semi-figuration. Attracted to drawing from an early age, he draws on African symbols, talismans and gazes to build a body of work deeply rooted in his cultural heritage. An international presence - from Russia to Canada, via France, Germany and Senegal - his unique technique and visual power combine tradition and modernity.
