At the start of the season, the Riedmuseum Ottersdorf is showing the traveling exhibition "Cultural History of the Beaver" by the BUND regional association Ostwürttemberg from March 1 to April 19.
In ten roll-ups, the exhibition covers a wide variety of cultural-historical aspects relating to Europe's largest rodent: first and foremost, the beaver is known as a master builder. It creates impressive dams and changes entire landscapes. At the same time, the beaver is of great importance to humans. For example, beaver fur was a sought-after commodity for centuries. And last but not least, parts of the beaver were important ingredients for medicine and were considered a special delicacy in certain regions.
The Riedmuseum is open Fri-Sun and on public holidays from 2 pm to 6 pm. The exhibition is included in the admission price.
