Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Parisian bohemia with the important artists of classical modernism Hans Purrmann, Albert Weisgerber and Rudolf Großmann! In the circle of Henri Matisse, the three friends experienced the inspiring atmosphere of this international avant-garde, which gathered in private academies, salons, studios and cafés in trendy districts such as Montparnasse. With their finger on the pulse of the times, they strove for innovation and artistic challenge. In the exhibition at the Museum Purrmann-Haus, the light-flooded, colorful paintings by Hans Purrmann and Albert Weisgerber enter into an exciting dialogue with the dynamic, expressive drawings and prints by Rudolf Großmann. Numerous high-caliber loans from public and private collections reflect the unique energy and timeless magic of Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. Freedom, inspiration, internationality and creativity characterized this period of Parisian bohemia. A multivision and the richly illustrated catalog provide deeper insights into the exhibition theme. The diverse accompanying program invites interdisciplinary exchange.
