A Brief Look Back: Headdresses Worn in the Past in Upper Alsace

In the museum’s attic, which houses exhibits on traditional crafts, daily life and the traditions of yesteryear are also highlighted. This space currently displays headdresses worn by women from Soultz and the surrounding region until the mid-19th century: gilded bonnets with lace underskirts, velvet cornettes, and more… The pieces come from the private collection of Thierry Mattioli, a connoisseur of the history of Alsatian costume.
